As construction of the Jacksonville, FL, I‑95 / J. Turner Butler (SR 202) Interchange Operational Improvements project reaches its final stages, Florida Governor Rick Scott announced the opening of the new Flyover Bridge with a press conference and ribbon cutting ceremony August 30, 2017.
Improvements to the intersection include 6-laning of JTB from Phillips Highway to I‑95, widening/reconstructing each of the ramps to add capacity, upgrading signals, constructing a braided flyover bridge to eliminate the existing weave interactions, and constructing a new bridge over JTB to accommodate future managed lanes on I‑95.
These improvements will increase safety and reduce congestion and driving times for the 220,000 vehicles that travel along the interchange daily.
